Nice site. I love sledding. Have 4 Yamahas older ones. My newest is a vmax 500 with 1100 kms on it., I am trying to learn bout clutchhing. I read the vmax clutch posts but I read thats for a 2000 Is this the same specs as for a older 1994 vmax 500? I had it out to the lake . It revs out easy to 8000 rpm on tach. I put a new belt and plugs and got 145 out on the (provbably innacurate Tach) Then llater on i wqas only getting 110 115 kms out of it at still taching 8000 rpm.I been slowly checking everything out but as Im new to clutch work all ive done so far is clean and reassemble both clutches. Any tips guys would be appreciated. I am saving up for a 700 or maybe a 1000 4 stroke. Thanx all Nice informative site. Mike

Welcome aboard hopefully you will this site as informative and enjoyable as the rest of us.
I'm not familiar with the older V Max sleds but I can't see where you'd be too far off with using the newer sled calibrations to start with until someone else chimes in with something better. And as you will see keeping them clean will be a huge help,a good habit to get into is taking an air hose and blowing them out after every couple or rides.

u might want to chq ur secodary spring u might not have enough tention in the setting and its opening up 2 fast and that engine will pull down on rpm and get no speed, if u got 145 ur close to top end on them. AL
