... gets anywhere near the amount of attention the SRX still commands!? I find it amazing how many people are riding, talking about and still modding these things! Is there a stock one left out there anywhere? I highly doubt it!...lol!

and the crappy thing is that if it wasn't for tree hugging liberals (sorry to interject politics but it has to be said) yamaha would still be making sweet, sweet, triples. it is only for government regulations that there isn't a 2011 evolution of the srx/viper. i bought a doo cause snowmobiles are 2 stroke in my book, but i'll never get rid of my yamaha triple.

Vmax4, thundercats, ZRT's, MachZ 800..
All still have lots going on, some have web sites and are still setting records.
If it was'nt for the tree hugging liberals, I would be driving out of my garage to go riding.(thanks, AL Gore) LOL. As for the 2 stroke thats old technology embrace the new technology 4 stroke bigger, better, faster! I think of my viper as a 69 dodge charger wick fast and fun to drive. And the vector as a Chrysler 300C with a hemi. The best of all worlds. (yes I love my mopars that all I have my stable) Yamaha saw the writing on the wall, they will be light years ahead of the other.Oh that right they already are.

I wish to heck that Yamaha would follow Ski-Doo's lead with the two stroke engine mangement and try to compete with them. Imagine a direct injected/renovated design version of the triple in the new style of chassis.

i was thinking the same thing. i'll bet an etech triple would be some badass smooth power. a lot of people like the four strokes but i hate em. a yamaha overead cam 4 banger is great on two wheels but not on the snow. i do kinda like the nytro but only because of my affinity for yamaha. like i've said before i bought my 2010 renegade because of one thing. its a carburated 2 cycle.

a two stroke is not any older tech than a four stroke. a rotax etech is way more complex than a yamaha 4 stroke. and your car argument kinda proves my point. how can you even compare the fun factors of a classic sports car and a cookie cutter sedan. sorry, i'm getting a little confrontational. not looking for a fight but this issue hits a nerve with me. yamaha quit making two strokes in advance of government regulations, not because of a demand by the market.(also why they quit making cars like the 69 charger).

Your point is well taken... it is just like when people talk about GM's LS push rod motors and and call them old tech while thinking that overhead cam motors are newer tech. Both layouts have been around for a hundred years Technology is not about how you arrange the parts but what you make them out of and how you control/manage them and gains in efficiency.
mainly the Insurance Company cracking down and e.p.a regs in 74 . all im saying is yamaha took it a difference direction and its working for them. I know they lost some people but then they gain some new ones too. As i get older all i want is comfort, reliability. (mainly reliability) Hell my first snowmobile was a 74 polaris colt 295 in 1977. I cut my teeth on a 69 rupp! All im saying is im sold on yamaha's reliability.have been for years. No i don't think you were being confrontational..but your comment on my 300 c hurt
..... that car haulass with a few mods. so let go out and ride and have some fun this winter! bear with me im not real good on computers.I type with two finger, were my ten year old when i need him!

Agreed. The atv sportquad industry went through the same thing. Used to be nothing but 2 strokes. Then about 2002-2004 everything switched to 4 strokes. There's a still a loyal following of the trx250r, but its a small group. Everyone just follows what the pros ride.

Some people just don't get it!
Would you believe that my buddy has a 98 SRX 600 and a 99 SRX 700 that he is going to sell, along with his kids mxz 440, and he's going to buy an ARCTIC CAT! I can't believe it!

![2strokes :2strokes: :2strokes:](https://totallyamaha.net/images/smilies/2strokes.gif)
Hey just having some fun here, been sick with walking pheumonia so the only thing i can do is stay in the house and be on the computer. I cant wait to get out and ride.
well the only other 2 stroke triple that is 10 years old that I would like to add to my stable is a Polaris XCR800 but they are bringing to much money that is if you can even find one. Here is a pic of Valins SRX and his buddies XCR800 it is my desktop background. I would love to have these 2 sleds in my garage.

The XCR 800 Tripple IMO is the only other Tripple that comes close to the Yamaha tripples[I don't think Polaris has had a worthy engine since ] and if you run into one built by HTG...bow out graciously!!

The HTG ones are no where near as bad as a Flannery one!!!, then your in big trouble with only a 700 srx or viper. Doug can make em FLY!!!!!!!!!
