Hi, I'd like someone to tell me how to get all the measurements right for the clutch. dont have teh special tool you can buy and dont want to buy it, so please tell me where on the clutch I should measure and where to compare with other measurements.

If there's already threads with this info please link, I have tried the search function but cant find it.

The CC should be 268.5mm right?

the offset should be 20mm on a ER, right?

how much should the secondary move sideways?

when I measure the offset should the secondary be as near the engine as possible or the "side panel"?

and what tools do I need? and again not the special tool.

Thanks

Jonatan

Best see if you can borrow the special tool lol, much much easier, im sure someone in sweden has one they'd be willing to lend you. When I had the motor out of mine i ended up borrowing a fellow ty members alignment tool to get it done, took maybe 20 min tops to get everything set up proper alignment wise.

I made both of my own. Probably not perfect but no problems here. I bought a 4' piece of 1/4 aluminum stock. Cut it into two 2' sections. For offset i use one as a straight edge across back of secondary across to primary. Per manual specs reg viper is 15MM from back of secondary to back of primary. For viper ER it is 12 mm from back of secondary to front edge of ringear. Check with secondary all the way twoards jackshaft bearing. I just use a ruler to measure from primary to straight edge. For center to center i put a bolt through one end of bar stock and then marked C2C at one end. Place bolt in head of secondary and line up with primary clutch bolt. their is a tiny pinhole on primary bolt that i use for lining up. 168 to 171 is specs for that. Cost me $4 and works great. NO problems here! CCC

I understand most of your explenation but not the "ringear" word would be awesome, if you could show me ur mspaint skills and show how u do and where.

pics say more than 1000words ;)

I understand if dont want to, but i hope! :D
