89L Belt?
anyone try ones of these, they are wider than the 8dn belt,we had the spring out of a primary on the bench to see how high the belts would rise in the primary at full shift out and the 89L belt was a good bit higher.anyone had any luck running that belt?thanks-Harvey

Same width but it is slightly shorter in length and it is also a softer rubber compound.
I run it in my XTC as it is what is called for with the 600 Twin. Seems like a great belt. No issues. I have one with over 3000 miles on it as my spare. While the old belt is worn a bit it is still within minimum width.

Yep!
Ran them on my stockers for the grass and if clutched close they did run faster than the 8dn but only by .05 in 500ft. however this gain seemed to be consistent with the belt change.

YA THAT WAS The original belts for the 97 sx's ( i dont think they came out with 8dn till 98 ) the 8dn's make it rev higher on take off but i put a clutch kit in it anyway ,after adding pipes. But they work fine in the 700s.
