SRX fuel pump

My '98 SRX is an absolute bear to start (every time) and so far from everything I've read is to 1) replace fuel pump with something like a '99 700 SX fuel pump or 2) replace carbs with Mikuni TM 33 carbs from a Viper (better choke circuit or something?)

My question is this, has anyone completed a fuel pump rebuild using a kit? If so, where did you get the kit and how much was it? Price?

I hate to tell you but there is no kit for these pumps the only option is to replace it,and it's funny your having trouble with yours being a 98 as it's most generally the newer ones with the starting issues.You might try popping your pump apart there may be some dirt in there plugging up the gas port to the carbs or some such thing.

Maybe your spark is getting weak.
