I clean my carb for the first time on my sled and was I remove the second part of the air box I view six hole in the bottom of the air box . Is it normal or I need to plug this hole with silicone ??

on our red head tripples, we closed those holes off (sealed them) and wipe the oil out of the air box twice per season.... no more oil all over the belly compartment... haven't had an issue with fuel/air mixture either... tj

scrubbed the whole airbox inside and out with hot water and detergent to get rid of the oil... then wiped the bottom several times (outside) with rubbing alcohol to be sure no oil residue was left behind.... then used duct tape (the stuff tin bashers use, the really shiny stuff with a paper that gets removed from the sticky side of the foil) and stuck it on over each hole, from the outside.... sticks like crap and hasn't come off yet... don't use "duct tape" that regular stuff doesn't have the sticking power... tj
