Is it possible to sleeve a stock 00+ srx 700 cylinder?
I know their not as good as re nykaciling the cylinder but cost is a factor.
I got a good deal on 2 used cyls for my srx from a advertiser here but im curious... cause sleeves are a BOAT load cheaper then getting them re done...
Thanks!

Yes you can re-sleeve stock cylinders. Sleeves can be found on ebay. I don't know about cost effectiveness, as the sleeve will run you like $80-$100 and the cost to have LA sleeve install them, is like $125 or so I believe. I can get a cylinder replated from millenium technologies for $180 and if you spent "X" dollars on the junk cylinders, then $80 or so on sleeve, then $120 for install, I would say you're spending more than to just buy a good used set of cylinders on ebay or from members here. Just my .02.

Thanks for the info guys and your opinions!
I know Mrviper was going to help me out with prices for re-nykacling my cyls.. just the shipping to go there and back adds up fast seeing it will cost about 50+ per trip to go there then back to me...or atleast close to it...
As of right now im in the middle of working out a deal with westbaycustoms and been great dealing with him so far for 2 used cyls!... hopefully the deal goes through to my favor... If not ill have to wait it out till i got some cash to redo mine or find another set
Its 289 per cylinder where I am to get redone.. and thats at cost. (I got a contact) but even then its expensive here... Mrviper quoted me 150-200 per cyl depending how bad they are... which is a hell of a good price for me.. but add in shipping on that and the ammount gets a little pricy for me for the time being.... trying to keep it below 400 for 2 cyls to start... since im going to try and get the pistons and gaskets to rebuild the top end so i got a sled to use this winter.
Seems like we are going to get alot of snow this season... and i though I could make it through the winter this season without a sled n take my time n just go through it a-z... well I got an itch that needs to be itched... lol.. I know the bottom end is fine..was going to check it out for safe keeping but will hit it up over the summer like a normal person lol if I can pull it off and have it running for this winter

sorry my bad
you certainly dont want to sleeve a srx engine.
this guy is selling a whole topend for about as cheap as they come, this would get ya up and running, use the heads off the trail ported topend and it will be fine.

You can run the 98 - 99 stuff. As long as you run all three of them you won't have a problem. They had a little different porting and head setup but as far as bolting on the case and working you'll have no problems.

If you have bendersrx's old sled, the cylinders are indeed trail ported, heads are machined and so are the pistons. with what i sent you a link to a guy selling a 98-99 3 cylinders and pistons, you could install these just fine on your 01 srx, just use your heads from your 01 srx and it will be fine to run, it will be down a little bit of power comapred to what was on it, but it beats walking. the sled will still run pretty good,as does a stock 98-99 and it will have just a bit more compression with the machined heads. if you get this pm me and i will help you set up jetting/clutching to suit.
I didnt mean to step on anyones toes so if you have a deal or something with westbay customs thats between you 2. I was just looking to find something to get you up and running as cheap as possible.
no problems on my end, i just saw he had a ported sled and he was interested in buying two stock cylinders

Oh so i would need to definitly run 3 of the same cylinders to have it run right!
I didnt know you worked on the cylinders as well, I though it was just the domes!
well this changes abit of my plans then...
My dealings with westbaycustoms have been great, hes a very easy going person from what ive gotten through pms and email...
Def dont want to have 2 unported cyls and one ported one... dont think the sled would operate to well doing so...
Pm sent to mrviper and Westbay!
