Ok so I hauled my carbs off again today to check the position of my needles. On the needles there are 5 clip positions. The clip was in the middle #3 from the top and the 2 washers were below the clip. Can someone tell me what position this is ?

Ok So my srx is workin like $hit on warm days, Which is normal temp for the past 2 years. On cold days it runs great. I figure its time to put it in the junk pile! The mountain srx I just bought runs great on warm days and even better on cold days.i'm starting to think i will have to go 4 stroke!I think I had enough of 2 stroke!

you a little pissed there Kirk???Got a gun..video tape the killing of that SRX then...lol..I know how you feel sometimes..if mine doesn't start to work properly soon..it will take a bullet or 2 and be sunk in the Pond in the back yard as a burial.
Got even a better plan, start her up..go to an area that is isolated..raise it on the stand..tape throttle wide open and then kick the stand away..let her go and make sure you videtape it for youtube....lol..Make it the final Cain's Quest.
If you are like me,we can only take so much and then it's game over..right. #$%&*

Pull the carbs on the mountain SRX and record all its jetting specs and duplicate the jetting from it to your other one...

Im gonna haul the carbs off the mountain and try them on the other one. Should have done that in the first place. If it runs better I guess i found my problem! All the jetting and needle position is the same on both sets of carbs, all needles set at position 3. mains are #1#2 146.3 and #3 148.8 pilots are 42.5

Ok so its the damn stator again! i tested the brown/red and brown wires on the cdi mag and I have 0 continiuity. Why is my sled blowing stators? This is a brand new one i put in last year. What would cause stators to screw up like this?

no gun yet I guess..lol...that is a strange one about the stator. But why would it work better in colder temps.Isn't the stator just putting out a constant reading warm or cold..this is strange also.Maybe it is the Salt water,Salt in the air..something getting to it.

There is NO salt here Doug im on the mainland.lol. I tested it in my shed with the wood stove roaring at about 30* C so I should have gotten some kind of reading! everything else tested out good . But the sled is not acting like it did the first time the stator gave out. I am buying another srx after Christmas from N.B I might just put this one in the parts pile . What baffles me is why it keeps blowing stators is there something wrong with the CDI I wonder ?

So I tested the mountain srx, brown/red-brown and I got the same reading of 0 maybe my tester is bad? Im gonna bring the stator in to the electricians at work tomorrow morning and see if they can figure it out . I hate electricity! lol I work with 30 kv DC at work and anticipate getting lit up like a Christmas tree every day!

your not getting a reading because theres a misprint in the manual.you need to check the black/red - brown 392-479 ohm and the brown/red -black in the 6 pin connector for 77-95 ohm.the book says brown - brown /red for 392-479 ohm but the pictures show it the right way.there should not be a reading between br and br/r.
