I have a 2002 srx with a 1 1/4 ripsaw and I am really needing studs. I know protectors for the front and rear coolers are a must but does the track ever contact the top of the tunnel?

I would say you need the fronts less than you need the tunnel and rear protectors. Drive shaft doesnt move...suspension does. I def would not take out the tunnel protectors if you are studded/studding.

If you run your track loose at all you will need em with studs.
Have you ever seen what studs do when the track balloons at high speeds?
For the couple bucks, they are worth it.

Yes you need them....without them with studs your tunnel will look like it went through war
just another ? would you have too add more protection too the tunnel protector strips and front and rear heat exchanger protectors when running a 1/2 inch track with 1.2 woody's chisels too me they look like they will shred my tunnel up
