seeing as its still hitting 8900 im thinking the 4.5g in the outer/tip wont even be enough to bring it down enough... but hopefully we can give that a try before the trip and give you an update.
Go to a green secondary at 70 with tips loaded in primary and use a 49/45 bender helix will bring it down to 8600 at 98mph trust me ............cant think of primary off hand ,,,,,,, give me a minute.....

see but now we're getting into more money when originally it was supposed to be some simple 5 dollar rivets...not a whole new setup...

whammy..you sure about that.I have a Bender 49/45 here and I have set the 2ndary tonight to green at 70 with 3.6 inner and 4.5 outer in primary. You say it will pull that number?
ygy primary ya 8dgs are tough........ can load them and they dont react.......load them with a more aggressive helix.........

a ha..
well i just got home a few hours ago and before looking at the sled we were just talking about all the sleds and how they are running this year, now that we just got them out of storage........then my brother mentions how this sled has a crazy amount of engine braking......bingo!!
obviously the secondary is different! so we go out and look and it has a pink secondary spring (much stiffer)! we are going to take it apart right now and see what its wrapped at...how low of a wrap can we go effectively?? its at least a 70 degrees now
update: does have the stock helix 8bv71 (47 degree)

alright after a quick adjustment...dropped the 80 wrap to 60 and the rpm dropped to 8100/8200 and seem to climb to about 8400ish in a quick 50 yd run
we will check tomorrow when we get to take it across a corn field

don't run in any deep snow with it at 60.Backshift will suffer ..plus check your clutch heat after some good runs.If clutch's are getting to hot,the 2ndary especially..then wrap it a little tighter. You adjust your rpm's with the primary as a #1 rule till your close and then fine tune with the 2ndary.
