I got a 98 srx and just wondering if anything has the dimensions of a tunnel extension because im gonna get one made. I know the width but i need to know the length and also at the front how high to make it and in the back too
Thanks
Thanks
you need to make it around 11 1/2"-12" long so you get a good underlap on the existing tunnel. the amount extended would need to be about 8". as for the rear, duplicate the stock tunnel and move the aluminum bracket that the snowflap and rear cooler attaches to to the new extension. match the heigth of the stock tunnel at the attachement point at about 6" and taper to about 4 1/2" at the rear. dont forget you will need some sort of structure added under/inside the tunnel for reinforcement as well as some longer coolant hoses and a new hose cover if you want to retain a stock look. the rear exchanger should be relocated to the rear. i have had a few of these made and unless you have a good fabricator with excellent pricing, a kit from folks like hartman inc(available though site sponsor rich motorsports i think) is hard to beat price wise and theres alot to be said for fit and finish. next option would be anyone parting out any 136 yamaha pro-action sled as the oem extension will interchange with your sled.
