cog axle are they the same?

I am helping a guy out with this.

94 vmax

If I am right the cogs and axles are the same.
I am wondering if the 97 is the same?

it looks like the shaft is the same but not sure about the cogs.....

They are both short track.....

I am 99% sure that the 1994 shaft is 1" hex and 1995 through current is 1-1/16" hex.
