OK I have searched around some of the various parts websites and I will be darned if I can find one that lists the optional springs, rivets, helix's... etc.
Can anybody point me in the right direction? I want to buy the individual pieces reccomended by MRViper and try them out in my SRX.
Thanks!

I just read an old post where you recommended 8dn-20 weights (which I may or may not have in my 2001 SRX... bought it with a "kit") 4.5 rivets and Yellow/Silver/Yellow primary spring along with 51/43 helix and Green secondary spring. My sled is stock.

Sounds good... gonna do a good basic investigation/cleaning tonight and will check back in. I am pretty sure I don't have a multi angle helix though and I am thinking that my sled was advertized as having a bender kit.

Well I took my primary partially apart and eyeballed my helix and I have a Hauck kit evidently because that what the helix says on it. Whether it is a decent kit or not I don't know but things are looking a little worn IMHO. Here are a couple of pics (not the best quality I know... rookie at this too!). The helix has 4 numbers on it adjacent to holes (0,3 w/rivet,6 & 9) it also has a G stamped on it. The flyweights have 89A 10 stamped in them. Also I didn't specify before but I am aiming for a good aggressive trail setup that still works ok on the lake.

You need some pucks on your sec clutch. How dose the sled go? IF your not turning over 8500 at wot you should be good. There are two set ups on tech page.
89a-10 4.5 heel empty tip y-w-y spring 52/47 red spring at 70
89a-10 3.6 heel .8 tip w-w-w spring 51/43 red at 70
89a-10 4.5 heel .8 tip b-w-b spring 48/42 red at 70

Pucks are what the helix is riding against? Sled seemed ok last year (haven't been on it this year) but I was to busy listening to the can and squeezing the trigger. Didn't really have clue one about the rpm's vs what the clutch was doing...lol! It was my first year with a sled and all I knew was that it seemed to run decent. Now I want to try to step it up and understand what it is doing and why. Also how durable are the little rollers that the weight slide against, can they stand a good cleaning? And what does empty tip and .08 tip mean?

I've been looking at the tuning book... lotta info! The pucks you mentioned... they are the little black nylon(?) pieces that the secondary cam rides across? And if I want to get serious about this I need a scale to weigh the rivets don't I?

Yes the black nylon buttons. Poke the buttons out from back with a nail. Yes scale is a must. I use mech screws from hardware store. Then you can make em weigh what you want.

So you tap the weights and actually thread the screws in? And thanks for your info!

Oh, that sounds like a much easier way than pounding rivets... ever have one come off?

Ok I am getting overload trying to decipher everything here without putting it into practice! I think that I have some decent aprts in my clutch and I am going to just finish cleaning everything, get my studs in my track and my carbides on and go hit the lake and pay attention to what she does. Then I think some of this stuff will start to make more sense and sink in. I did notice that my moveable sheave on my primary seems to have a little side play and I have a little scoring on the shaft. How do I judge what is to much play/wear?
