Check out these pistons from a 2000 700 sx-r. There is 20,000 kilometers(12,400 miles)The guy wanted to freshen up the top end but everything was pretty minty. This sled has had a very vary hard life. The shape of the pistons does tell a story tho. Compression was down maybe 5% all across from new & no blow by.

My Sx-r looked very similar to that when I tore it down last year at about 8800 miles.Know what kind of oil was used?I have used Amsoil hp injector in mine and was impressed with the cleanliness of everything and the lack of blowby.

regular fuel it,s entire life & castrol cheapie walmart special 2 stroke oil.

once i use up the remaining Amsoil here, scaling down to Shell Advance and Advance Ultra myself. From $12 to $30 cheaper per 4 liter jug.Just can't figure where these oil campanies or suppliers get off selling oil for such a high price.Walmart oil is better then no oil at all..so if it works for you..go for it.Me personally haven't been in a Walmart store for some 6 years, don't like the store.Canadian Tire out here is my store now.

I'll ask. Are those pistons good? Excuse the ignorance! I've never taken apart a motor before. From the tone of the posts, I'd say they look good, but don't know if you guys are being sarcastic!

Thanks!
