I am one to use OEM for most applications, but I need a new trailing arm for the Viper. I found an aftermarket version for a third of the cost????? Has anyone ever used an arm supplied from Sport Products Inc. ? I have never heard of this company. They are located in WI. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Al

I put an aftermarket one on dont know what brand. It was supposed to be for the viper but the shaft the spindle goes through was to short. I just made a spacer for it and it is fine. I would get a measurment on this before I order.

GO OEM for sure, I replaced one of mine with a kimpex and they are super weak. It bent the first time I taped something. So there I was taking it all back apart again.
just my .02
Kimpex = 65.00 roughly
OEM USED = 75-100

alswagg - I did a Google search, and found Viper trailing arms on Amazon.com for $85.79 Are these the ones you are asking about? Seems like a deal to me, though the quality ???????.....heres the link:

I bought two aftermarket from shadetree powersports. Quality seemed decent, all welds looked good and had the reinforcent plate underneth. Weighed the same as oem on scale too. The paint was crap though. I would strip them brand new,re-prime and paint with good paint.
This place has good prices too: http://www.psep.biz/store/yamaha_snowmobile_trailing_arm.htm

OEM trailing arms are better, the aftermarket ones are thin, junk welds and the paint dont last a season without flaking or rusting.

I bought one from Kimpex and it seems fine to me. Was bolt on and no fuss. I did get it sand blasted and powder coated. If you want to repaint powder coating is the way to go. Its way more durable and its fairly cheep.
