Okay Guys,
I need some help here. My friend and I are die hard yammy owners and are not intrested in anything else. But my buddy had back surgery last month and wants to get back on his sled ('99 700 Vmaxx), but I am not not sure this is the best sled for him now.
I suggested maybe looking for a a touring sled with air bag suspension. Any body have any suggestions of a good sled for the old boy. What year? model? and suspension options to look for?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Doesnt the doc usually frown upon riding shortly after back surgery? We all love the sport but I dont think I love it enough to try and keep buggering my back up. My back is toast already!

Ya, they don't recommend the sled activity but he has the same bug we all have and just looking for a smother ride and taking it easy.
I was thinking the tour sleds have the air suspension but not sure. And since we do not know anybody with air ride we are not sure if it is actually smoother.

Depending on his budget, replace the skid with a new aftermarket skid or a good used Doo,Polaris, or Cat skid. And like Chevyboy mentioned, redoing the seat foam or replacing it with a newer softer seat will help in the smaller chatter bumps.

Just letting you know, a BOSS seat is not in any way softer. It is however higher giving a more natural sitting. As for one with back problems, I am still trying to find the answer. ?????????? Al

any of the ventures with the tripple will ride smoother. my dad says my warior rides too rough after riding his 05 venture and i have olins on mine.

could always long travel, extend to 136" to bridge the bumps better and re-valve the shocks for trail riding on the rear suspension.

i agree with a skid swap, i looked at the M10 when i did my swap but it was just out of my price range at the time so i picked up a skid from an 09 Polaris IQ and swapped that in and my SRX is like a totally different sled with that skid under it. the Yamaha pro action skid is definatly not good on the back thats for sure.
