I have a 2001 SRX. After about 10 minutes on the trails yesterday the sled just quit while doing about 50 mph. Not getting fuel. Got towed home. Fuel pump didn't seem to be pumping. Pulled the pump apart. Everything looks fine. No dirt or water. Filter in tank not plugged. Put it back in. Left carb lines off. Pulled it over a few times. A little fuel came out, but not even enough to fill the carbs.
Fuel pump shot even though it looks OK?
Thanks

Make sure the inline filter is not plugged or that the fuel line did not fall off the tank barb. You can check with a flashlight and coathanger. Or you can remove the airbox and pull it out from the frt.

Where is the inline filter? I don't see one on mine. Fuel is coming out of the tank and hose is attached.

The inline filter is on the end of the pick-up-line INSIDE the tank. You can try to fish around for it, but if you snag it, it will probably be too short of a fuel line for you to pull up and exchange an old for new. Best thing is to take the air box off the carbs, then unscrew the two screws that are on the front of the gas tank - this is where the coupling is that connects the line inside the gas tank (with the filter on the end of it), to the fuel pump. Shove a wire up the inside of that line - I used a coat hanger, and then you can fish the fuel pick-up line up a lot easier and have plenty of length to pull the old filter off the end of it and replace it. Then just pull the wire or coathanger back up and bolt her back together. It's not as bad as it seems.
(of course you will have to sighon off a lot of gas before you do this.

The filter in the tank is fine. Fuel is coming out of the tank with no restrictions. I already checked the intank filter. I assume there is no other filter. Must have blown a crank seal. Never heard of them going that quick. Had just previously made 2 wide open runs with no problems before it quit.
check the line coming from the base to pump ......

one of my sleds were doing about 65 in a straight shot and just quit. 90 miles on new pistons and jugs........that fast that quick motor was toast again....
I should of replace the seals but lesson learned....
It ran great before the seal went bad....no problems what so ever....
