My SXR has an intermitant cylinder that cuts out up to 4500rpms. At first I thought it to be a low speed jet that was plugged but it cleared up for 30 miles and I thought she was good to go.
Seems fine when you first fire her up and then she starts up doing it. Since it comes and goes could it be electrical?

I heard there was an issue with the plug caps getting corroded or something on these sleds? Is it in the plug wire boot where the plugs connects?

How do the plugs look? Do you have a tight connection to the plugs?
I also do agree with the other guys....

I did change the caps, cut back the wire 1/4 inch and screwed them in. The plugs themself looked very good as I had put the "Tempaflow" setup on them. One plug did seem to be getting carbon on the cap.
Could I need to replace the wire from the coil? Should I cut back as far as I can go from the plug cap?

Thoroughly clean the carbs! Click on j k autos help/info section and follow all the carb cleaning tips/instructions...dirty carbs can cause all your issues and it is a waste of time to only partially clean them.
