Starter relay click but starter not working

My question is if my starter relay clicks but the starter does not is it the starter or do I need a new relay. The starter motor is quite expenseive but the relay is rather cheap. I figured I would start with the relay but if anyone has expierenced the same please do tell. Thanks

yes battery is good and charged

Check to see if power is getting to the starter with a tes light. If it is then you need a starter if not than a relay.

If you feel the starter is bad after testing, take it to a local electrical motor repair company, usually they can rebuild at half the cost of new. Good luck Al

If you have 12v at the starter make sure the ground wire is on the motor and is tight

If the relay clicks it is good. Check connection to starter, or bring starter to an advanced auto for free testing.
