So my old SRX600 is blowing headlight and tail light bulbs.

They get super bright and pop when reved so I am thinking the voltage regulator.

I helped my friend pull the harness from under the engine and we checked by the bars and by the lower footwell for rub throughs and nothing.

So which one of those boxes in the left footwell in the voltage regulator and how do I test it?

Thanks! :2strokes:

Thanks Don,
Any idea how to test these bastards other than swapping in good known units?

Is one used just for lights?

Sled is still ripper apart from pulling the harness or i'd just test the voltage at the connectors for the lights.

Going to clean the carbs while i'm at it...

I will need to look at wiring diagram in shop manual to tell you, next trip out I will grab it later tonight.

regulator your looking for has 2 wires, black and blue wires.

other regulator is for warmers, I knew I could recall the 98-99 had 2 regulators but didnt remeber which one was what without looking at diagram.

LOL that's OK i'm sure it's been a while since you worked on an SRX.

I had a feeling that was the one. Any idea how to test it??

I was wondering when I would see you on here!

that would be pretty easy, simply place a digital voltmeter in line after the regulator on blue wire , rev up sled and if it goes above 12.8-13 volts, you found the culprit.
