CRAIGSLIST is going down the toilet!!

This site is getting ridicules. Seems as though more than 50% of listings these days are bogus. And on the other side, when you put in a legitimate listing you get flagged or accused of being a scammer. It is getting crazy. People don't even reply half the time when you inquire about their item.

I put a sled on for sale a month ago and it got flagged and removed twice. I put it back on yesterday and the first reply I got was accusing the listing of being fake!

Last month, someone stole my email account and tapped in and started selling shit that wasn't even mine. I've had to change my password twice now.

Then there is the idiots that just like to reply claiming you have no idea what stuff is worth and calling you crazy, when in fact, they are the clueless ones.

It was a great run, it's only a matter of time before this site hits the crapper!!
 

can't agree more, i quit going there when they got rid of the escort's ad's :o| , i dont see this sight going to the crapper, this is one site i go to and pretty much trust the info i get, lot's of good sled-heads on here ;)!
 
I have never had a problem with ebay. Craigs list can be a pain if you don't post ads with the correct information. I now post on there with a statement that I will not respond to any reply on this ad unless the sender puts (certain words) in the subject line. It has made it alot easier on my side. I have been told also to post your phone number or email address in the ad but to switch between writing and spelling it or put spaces between every thing then just tell them in the ad to change it back and to not reply through craigslist or it will be deleted. a a g @ g w i . n e t and two hundred seven- 538- seven three nine 1, these are way less likely to be spam botted than being writen normally. My next round of craigs list ads I will be trying this.

had this going on in the local BUY and SELL also.Tons of scammers saying the item is stored in a bldg in so and so place,they can get a trucking company to deliver to my door.I can even try out the item,and if I don't like it..they will pay shipping back.And this was for a 45 HP International Tractor I was looking at.Also had one who tried to scam my stepson of a v-max-4 ..BS
 
Just got an email from the president of craigslist "Jeremy Benson". He's gonna give me a free ipad!! How cool is that? All I have to do is click on his links, enter my password and bank account info and he will mail it right out!! Well hot damn!!

I remember that V-max 4. It was mine. Some scumbag stole my photos and advertised all over the place.

I agree about Craigslist.I dont put my e-mail in there anymore.I used to say put a certain word also.That got rid of the spam but i still got people asking questions that were right in the ad or like you said offering me half of what i was asking or trade me for some crap etc.This site wont get like that.Mr.Sled and the mods keep up on that and its small enough that they can look at all the posts etc. and respond if needed.So if you see something that doesnt look right i'd say report it and keep this site great.Same thing in life if people would look out and do something when they see something wrong going on.We wouldnt have half the crime etc.There thats my rant of the day lol.And RAVE for Totallyamaha :)
 
ive had good luck avoiding the alot of the spam emails and phone calls by spelling out my phone number and certain parts of my email address, like spelling out dot instead of using a period between yahoo and com and spelling at instead of using the @ symbol. i think alot of the spammers use software that just scans the ads and automatically sends spam when it finds a complete address. i still get them occasionally but its dropped drastically. i still get the retards that like to offer 1/4 of what im asking and than ask if i can deliver it to them on the other side of the state. lol

Just to clear things up. My rant is 100% about craigslist. The references I made using the term "this site" was to craigslist, not Totallyamaha.

This site (totallyamaha) Rocks!!

That's my only beef with CL. spam.....
Of the numerous things I sold on CL; cars, many car parts, sofa, go cart, canoe, etc, I never had one issue.

That's why I never give my phone number out, until I can verify the person is real and an actual probable buyer through email.

I always use the anonymous reply email, and weed out the crap before they know any of my info.

I think too many people are a little too loose with info on CL, or dealing with CL buyers. Some can be flakey, some a bit sketchy, but be smart and you won't have any issues.
