what was the recall on the 97' 600 xtc for? did this include the 98' 600 xtc's? does anyone have a link where i can find this info? thanks

97 had faulty piston ring retainers that would allow the ring to spin and catch the ports causing major damage. The oil pumps also went out and stuck wide open. Both problems were fixed in 98.

The recall was for ski spindles.

Yes to both of these, and the oil pumps were not recalled, just replaced in 98 with ones that would not fail at a horrible rate like the ones on the 97's.

i have all the recall papers for 97. starter gear on the clutch. strearing column welds. excessive oil consumption (vx/vt/mm600). impropper battery breather hose venting. weak fuel tank joints.
