advice on fuel screws

i have a sxr 600 and its runnig great but my plugs are more black than golden my fuel screws are set at 2 turns now my question is if i turn the screws back to 1 7/8 turn will this be a smart move to lean it out or is there a better idea thanks
 
third clip stock jets...i ran it this way last year with no plugs fouling and their not wet just kinda black with a slight tan electrode

no, just turning the fuel screws a 1/4 turn isnt going to lean out the sled. They merely control the fuel flow at idle and very low speeds.

whats the gap on the oilpump cable set at?.

not shure where its at it does have a 2" risers maybe it thew it off

right in the middle of cable youll see a little rubber sheath, slide it back and the cable will come out of the threaded adjuster, pull the cable till its snug and measure the gap from the cable end to the adjuster, thats the gap spec. its very well likely its pulled out and why your using more oil,especially if you installed a riser and it pulls on the cable!
