has anyone take a viper motor out ???

Had mine out this summer and there is no ground wires under the motor.

The only ground wires to the chassis is the one on the left side of the hoop above your foot if memory serves me correctly. Check to make sure the wire harness isn't rubbed through under the motor though.

Good spot to check, last year a warning light would come on all of a sudden and then off again and never did again. When the motor was out the harness was rubbed though and a wire was bare.

Thanks Guys , Ya I Have The Harness Out And No Rubbing Going On , I Checked The Ground That Spec Helped Me Find The Other Night And It Looks Good , I Have A New Stator Assembly Coming In The Mornig So Hopefully I Will Smell Two Stroke Oil By Tomoroww ..

You might want to check some of the regulators & rectifiers above the left and right foot rests if the stator doesn't fix it. Also check to make sure no wires are rubbed through up around the coils and make sure they were not rubbing on anything that could ground them out.
