Hello
Has anyone taken off ..then put back on a retainer ring off of a 2001 700?
What tool is out there ..that will help?
If you look on the Yamaha MICRO FICHE.. Part # is in the "ELECTRICAL STARTER ASSY " section. #13 is the "ring" that holds on the spring and cup.
Did it this weekend because the ring gear was hitting the flywheel. Changed the spring.
What a PAIN! it was a four hand job.
We got it back on ...But...Then it was stretched (the ring). So, we (dad and I) had to then compress it again using vice grips and needle nose pliers so that the "cup" would hold it in place.
Any ideas for next time?
