putting the viper back together with pipes and got to thinking about jetting. i don't want to have to wait another week after i get this thing running to get a bigger/smaller jet. putting an order in with port yamaha and was just gonna get em from them. anyplace cheaper? also, what kind of assortment should i buy. 1 size higher and lower than spec? maybe just one set fatter? never done this before. someone already suggested 1 size bigger pilots. the spec i was given is vent carbs to atmosphere, mains P147.5 C147.5 M150, std pilots, std air jets, 2.5 turns on fuel screws, std clip pos 3rd groove both washers under clip. i'm gonna run that first but i just want to have some jets on hand in case i need to change them.
Who's pipes are they? Bender, Aaen, CPR, Hauck(possibly cpr)... With knowing whose pipes you have you can damn near jat spot on the first time and have a no muss no fuss scenario. On the other hand if the sled didn't have pipes on it before you'll need to do some clutch work as stock clutching is not aggressive enough.

they're aaen's from hauck. got a venom kit with the clutch and the whole nine yards. i just wanted to have a small selection beforehand so any adjustments could be made without waiting for shipping and such. just want a general idea of what i should buy and the best place to buy them from. thanks for the reply.

1 thing you need to do is change those darn carb screws with allen bolts. It will make your life so much better. 4mm x 12 mm long with .7 pitch allens is what you need

i know, i was just bored this morning and felt like asking everybody. it's raining here so all i have to do is talk about sleds anyway. won't be riding them anytime soon. whats the best place to get jets from anyway. i was just gonna get them from a dealer but does anyone else have them cheaper?
I thought stock was the fastest pipe and can. Why would you need to alter clutching?

No, Tripple pipes on a viper add around 30 hp over the stock setup, it needs to be clutched for the new power and so it runs the proper rpm's for the pipes
