For some reason when I put my carbs back together and in the sled I put the air/fuel screws at 1 3/4 instead on 1 1/2. I forget my exact carb settings but I think I'm 150's all across board. I have the cold air kit. I think one of the screws was at 1.75 and I just set them all at that. So the question is do I pull the carbs back out in a couple weeks when I'm back up (and there is snow) and set them at 1 1/2? Carbs were pretty clean but the fuel did look fairly dark so a cleaning was clearly in order.

I'm just not sure if a quarter turn is a big difference. I also was going to replace the reeds but I changed out one set and they still looked good. So did the other 2 sets. No chips and they looked to be sealing well along the front edge. Maybe I should have spent that money on some clutch rebuilding. The clutch is on the list for next summer.

Didn't even fire it up. It was a balmy 45 when i finished up. We had about 14" of snow when I got there and none when I left .

So it's mainly going to effect idle? I'll probably just pull them out when I get up there. Better off spending half an hour and getting them right.

i would check idle quality and how it starts before i would adjust,to lean and it will not return to base idle right away(idle hang).

I think you will find a lot of us richening up our idle mixtures, mine was hanging this season on my 01 SRX and I took my carbs from 1 1/8 to 1 1/4...idle still hanging a bit so next I'm going to 1 1/2. The higher alcohol content of the fuel can be attributed to this i think...Try running it and see if it needs to be adjusted before you adjust it. Check idle quality, speed of returning to idle and off idle acceleration.
