Vintage sled question.
Buddy has an ET 340 that ate a rod bearing this weekend. Found a 440 exciter motor. Will the motor from the exciter bolt into the 340 chassis with minimal fabrication or are they totally different animals.
If anyone has a definite answer that would be great.

Not sure what your deffinition of "minimal" is but using mine I would say No. There are many differences between the two engines/chassis and although this swap is doable it would not be one I would even consider. Not because of difficulty but because of work needed vs final value/advantage. About the only thing I see as a plus is the fact that both engines are bottom mounted.

exhaust in mounted and exits on opposite sides.. Mounting the motor and getting the clutches to line up will be difficult. Motor mounts are way different and I have not touched electrical yet.
