Hey all-
I am running my MTN Viper with a P85 primary and playing with a set of heavy hitters. I have tried about 10 different setups (im keeping track of it), and am thinking my primary spring is the wrong one.. it is a 165/310. I am running 20/40 gearing, 7 tooth 3 pitch drivers.. New belt, and clutch alignment, c2c, and deflection are in spec. I am looking to get 9150, and have it back off to 9050, at the end of the shift.
First Setup, which ended up massing out approx. 56 grams... Clutches seemed to pull well, went right to 9000 (Speedwerx Triples) and worked ok. Clutches got Hot.
See if the sled would pull weight, i tried a heavy setup.
Second Setup, was fully loaded, 64.4 grams. Sled seemed smoother, clutch temps dropped, and still pulled real good. Tach showed 9000 rpm right through the shift.
With all setups, engagement was 4900ish... I want engagement to be around 4000ish...
So if i tried a 120/340 Spring, this should help me engage lower and all get more full shift RPM right? In theory, with a stiffer Full Shift Spring Force, would i have to add or subtract "weight arm" mass?

yes, it will drop engage speed but raise the shift rpm, youd need to add weight to bring it back down.
why not just use a dark blue/white spring?, its 120/310

Thanks for the reply. I dont have a 120/340, or a 120/310 spring, so i was looking for one to buy that would have a good chance of working well. When i get back to school, i have an abundance of p85 parts.
