what do you guys think?wanted to do away with my cold air kit but did not want to buy a new gauge pod, have 3 sheets of stainless steel a buddy gave me ten years ago so I tried a little fabrication project.cheaper than buying a new gauge pod. Also included a side shot,I think the billet wheels go good with my polished stainless piece-Harvey

I just covered the holes in the hood up with duct tape on mine, and left the cold air kit on there, along with the foam so the tape could not be seen. Seems to work fine, and if I ever did want the kit back on, I could just remove the tape. The reason most guys take the kit off is because it makes jetting finicky and doesn't provide any gains in power like Bender claims. Might help a little bit in the deep stuff, but not enough for me to notice. I just had my airbox modified a little bit and it works every bit as well as the $100 cold air kit. Just my $.02

When I bought it there were holes drilled on the lid. I believe the holes are about 3 inches in diameter and there are probably 6-8 of them. I could take a picture when I am home next week if you'd like.

ya,I started the sled up tonight and it is much crisper with the stock jetting back in.I think on a extremly cold night you may see a performance gain but on warmer days I think you loose performance.thanks-Harvey

Cover

Harvy,

Looks good,...but,.... what happens when you're heading east anytime from 1pm to 5pm? The sun is going to reflect off that like mad. You might want to put a decal on there or something to matt the finish.

Otherwise looks really good.

I thought about that and I think because I have a black windshield and the way the pod tips away from the rider that I will be ok.thanks-Harvey
