......can I fit in there without a HUGE amount of dickin around? I need a little travel, and a track that is semi common, with a 2.52 pitch.

Before the purists start screaming, it's a $200 beater that had a very long history. Some things, (the engine) were done very, very right. beyond that? well the seat's nice, back of the tub is dinged, right front torque box is warped, and the track is Whacked...(let's see, goin 75, pin it, the speedo hits 105, and you hang on as it dog walks right and slows down).....

What I am trying to do......

I want to put a Quasi-modern rear skid assembly on it. i'm old. In my head, i'm 19, 10 foot tall and bullet proof...however, my 47 year old body get's punched in the face cause it's along for the ride.....

This project may go as far as a custom front suspension. (yes, i'm that stupid) oh and since I build racecars, I'm fairly good at backwoods engineering, and fabrication.. the square tubing hanging out there is beggin for some 21st century engineering, complete with coilovers et al.....

I'm Not tryin to out-do tony 3:16 (kiddin)...I just want a 'pro street' style sled with a little tongue in cheek fun, any maybe surprise a few 'cubic wallet' 'I go real fast cause i wrote a check' wannabees here in the tight woods of Northwestern PA....

Got bored today:

in retrospect, i like the white scale....should have just perled the clear instead of the color, but hey, it was a quickie...like 3 hour quickie.

So, who's got the info? :bling:

I am from Shippenville 16254 and have a bunch of the Original Pro-Actions used in the following sleds. They are almost 8" travel which would probably be double what the SRX was stock. W 814 226-1595 H 814 354-2687

Search all the following sleds had the Original Pro-Action Rear Suspension.
1983(?) to 1991 SRV 540
1983 to 1991 Vmax 540
1991 to 1993 Exciter
1992 to 1997 Vmax 750/800 with the exception of the 97 XT models
1994-1996 Vmax 5/600 with the exception of the 96 XT models

I put one out of a Indy lite and works good, and sits right.
oh but you do need to move the rear mount bracket and drill new mount holes F+B

good deal. i have a guy promisin at the right price...but we all know how thise deals work. My cell is 814 558 1750. If you got a package at a decent price with a track I'd be interested......

The white scale paintjob looks awesome, I am not a fan of a lot of flame jobs but that looks great. The red/orange flames look good too.

Those are all 121" skids, the srx has a 116, get a 84-89 phazer skid, they are 116 and can be installed with the same length track just re locate the mounting holes.

As luck would have it, the tracks junk that's on it....no bite and not enough left to pick, so it's goin too..... to install the 121", i'd have to relocate the existing skid back anyhow.....

Tks for the comp on the paint......I'm just not happy with it, but I'll live with it for the summer......

ok...I think I may have found a Skid Assembly I like...98 Mach Z

Do-able?

Couple of tries, new windshield for $16 and a sheet metal Brake
