Got a deal on a track and skid assembly from a 98 Ski Doo Mach Z. Like the setup, decent track, right price...

YOUR KIDDING RIGHT. 3:16 (yammie tony)
not at all.....YAMMIEGOD3:16 said:YOUR KIDDING RIGHT. 3:16 (yammie tony)
tony, the fact that this thing was 'saved'from the scrap heap for the princely sum of $200, it has a bit of local racing heritage, doesn't warrant a full on Resto. The tub is dinged, the track is shot, and there's more action in a convent on a Saturday nite than the supension had. (i replaced the junk shock and the springs with a coil over from? a golf Kart..helped immensly)
A bit of back ground: i build racecars as a hobby.......My kid, 15 years old, and a viable talent, piloted one, to 20 feature wins this year,9 with a $200 jumkyard engine. I own a gasfield consulting and logistics company in Northwestern PA.... i could buy a 'new' Sled with a stroke of the pen/ swipe of my card.. I choose not to. I drive a 99 dodge truck, with 200K miles on the clock, even though I could be driving a king ranch, i like the challenge of old iron. i like the tinkering, the wrenching, and to be honest, my kids are havin a ball wrenching, riding and learning these dinosaurs. The ET 340? 2 sleds combined. it's my favorite, and was perfectly matched to my 14 year old stepson. the skid swap will be carried out on his ET 340 Delux if this goes well. The Polaris? good deal, and we wanted a modern confige incase one of the dinosaurs needed toweo out of the sticks.......
I grew up in a childrens home, that had a Yamaha Dealership next to it. I hung out there, swept floors, and drooled each fall when the new stuff came out. I had an old Huffy 'cheeter Slick' bike, that got replaced by a cool suspension Yamaha bike....hence I'm Queer for all old yamies....... thanks to the Rink bpys for this gift from 35 years ago......
the mach z tunnel and config looks like a close match, and I'm snaggin the 4 dog driver with it. Think of it as the guy that back half's a 62 vette....yeah, purist's are flippin out, but it was junk to start with. No harm no foul.....We got a nice little stable goin on 72 A/C Panther, 440 Kaw, late 70's ET 340, 94 Polaris 500 EFI SKS, the SRX 440c, an 85 ski Doo Formula Plus, 80's Yam SS440, and with the exception of the Indy, nothin purchased for more than $300
Simple Question,
THINK I CAN PULL IT OFF? (yes, I will be turning my attention to the front suspension next, and am eying a modified MacPhearson strut setup for the front).
What it's all about.....

AFTER READING THIS POST. I DO !!!!!!!!! 3:16 (yammie tony)
Pic was from a little 36 mile jaunt yesterday. (Jurassic Park's Maiden voyage) few issues, but all in all, pretty cool run... (iced the tunnel twice) and got tossed off when it Aztec 2 stepped (snapped sideways due to a momentary lapse in talent with regards to throttle control) on a gas line right of way.
No real wide open spaces around here, but got a couple of full pin century blasts. never got hot, running 32:1 klotz synthetic and 93 octane.....mr 'kick the worlds azz in a stock car' just looked at me and said 'dad, You're nuts..I gave up tryin to run with ya!" few inches of fresh powder, just enough to Ice the kid down nicely when he'd get close.
Will say that I got the piss beat out of me though......Relaxed in my 'Chair of Death' in front of the fire with a couple of Crowns, and the kitchen wolf's hot bean and ham soup...
That's the kind of days I remember havin when I was a kid, sans the Crown
