I have a 98 srx.I got some transfer rods that must be off a newer SRX and they are about 2" longer. In reading it seems the 2000 srx had the mount hole on rail in a different position for better transfer. So question is does anyone have a diagram of the exact position of the newer hole?Is it worth doing or should I just find the right rods for my sled?

They are likely off of a longer travel sled Viper /sxr the 98 srx has longer rods than a 2000 srx and up.You need shorter rods for the mod .
Yes I am sorry. My rods are longer.Correct.These rods are off a 2001 I believe. So nobody has just drilled new holes in rails for the shorter rods?

Yes i have its easy....Install the new rods on the top axle than rebolt the skid frame in.
If the shock/spring settings are all good and set properly for your weight and proper heigth than put some teshion on the track adjusters and set the bushing in the bottom of the rod holder against the rail on the side the rear wheel comes off.
Mark it with a pencil back off tenshion bolt remove the rear wheel and drill the right size for the bolt to pass thru.
Than you could meashure the other side on the inside???maybie and drill or remove axle so you can git behind the wheel.
Things to watch are keep the slack out of the skid before marking.....sit a piece of wood under the bumper!Have the rod shim and bolt done up at the very bottom.

Thanks just worried that I position hole right so the rails dont stab the track at front.

Are you only doing the rods or what is going on if you are going to copy a 2000 srx there should be no problem im thinking.
Yes just the rods.I am really looking for measurements off one.I believe the 2000's had both holes so it would be easy to get it right.

i put some sxr 700 transfer rods on my 2000 srx witch are longer, im going home tomorow i can get u the measurement off my 2000 there was 2 holes in there last time i checked
Its okay.I found some correct ones. The 2000up also uses a cross shaft I dont have.Yes both holes are there on 2000 I found to measure. From front edge of that open hole I came up with 1.485in to center of new hole which is at same height as old hole.Thank You though.
changing to this isn't worth the bother. Not sure why they ever changed

Please post back if you find any differance from before.
It definitly hooks up better with the adjustable transfer rods.See reason I wanted to do the newer ones was just because that was what I had.No other reason.I think they moved them forward just to add the cross shaft.Shaft would hit the wheels in old position.

So a little more transfer from the larger gap in the adjustable transfer rods is helping with track hookup?
Yes for sure.Still not like what a Apex can do but much better.

Thanks but the next time you have the sled out would you set the adjustment to the gap that the old rods had and than try it for me.I have a bet going with another member about this issue and would like a unbiased opinion.
I had a .245 spacer in the old unadjustable ones.I am on 2nd from top line on the adjustable ones and it definitely at least carries the skiis higher. Not sure if that equals more speed but it sure feels like it.Will run my buddies Apex soon and find out.
