Im looking to buy a sled.. now i haven't ride in a long time. My dad used to have a V-max 600 and aven't ride since then. Anyway back to my questions, I found a 98 SRX 700 with about 9000 km on it. Sled looks in good shape and all. Guy says he had the top end redone last year as well as track runners and slides bearings.
Just wondering if this is a good sled. Anything particular i should be looking out for? Any input would be great!

Sleds are more expensive in Canada than the States. In my opinion, $1500- $2000 depending on condition. When I buy used sleds, or anything else for that matter, look around his house/yard/ vehicles. Is it all junk and messy or clean and tidy. Lots of times that is a good indication of what you are getting into. Also listen to him is he a snake oil salesman and pushy? Good luck.

Here in NB, you cant get an srx700 for under $2000. Even the 98's are being listed for more than that. I think what Whammy was implying is that the seller is a liar. it seems a common thing for people to say the topend was rebuilt when km's start to get high. You really have to get in there and dig, drive it.. I try to thoroughly check over almost everything especially the expensive bits. I must say though that I have purchased a dog, that's when you really learn some things. Another popular trick is to put new slides on to cover rail damage. Good luck! BTW if your anywhere near Montreal there is a 95 vmax4-800 for sale for 1400 bucks. Looks to be in good condition and in my opinion a hell of a better sled than a 98 srx.

thanks for the input guys! Im in NB too Rustman. the guy in asking 2300$ for the 1998. I think i'll go take it for a test drive
