Hi guys!

I have fitted a Comet 108 EXP on a friends 2000 V-Max 700 and I having some issues.

The screws for the starter gear are hitting the engine cases, I didn`t make it more difficult then necessary so I took an angle grinder and slightly grinded the heads of the screws just a tad and I also grinded alittle on the engine cases to get enough clearance.

I put it back on and it now spins freely, but now the starter gear seems to be touching the gear on the starter motor, gees doesnt this clutch fit this sled at all??

The engine runs nice at idle but when I blip the throttle I get this "tickering" sound probably, I guess the clutch will "move" alittle due to the sentrifugal power and or also vibrations, this makes the starter gear on the primary hit the gear on the starter motor.

What can I do?
Modify the gear on the starter motor?
Maybe enlarge the mouting holes for the starter so that I can push it alittle against the mag side of the engine.

Any opinions???

Thanks

Anyone???

Is it ok to put the clutch in a lathe and remove 1mm where the startergear-ring is mounted so that the gear wount hit the starter motor?
