hey guys currently i have been rebuilding my 02 sxv. last year a stud flew threw the exchanger and i overheated really bad. i got lucky and barely squeaked each piston so i got away with just honing them. i went against the norm and threw spx pistons in it a new heat exchanger and an M 10 suspension. everything is done and i bolted her back in and hooked everything up. as i was pooring coolant in i noticed it was dripping by the water pump. so i took it off and checked it out looked fine, carefully bolted it back up and it leaked again. sure enough i noticed the weeping hole at the back of the water pump. My seal is gone. has anyone else had issues with this seal? alll in all im happy the weeping hole is there to protect the motor. a new one is on oder and i cant wait to ride! ![Letitsnow :letitsnow :letitsnow](https://totallyamaha.net/images/smilies/letitsnow.gif)

you could have baked that water pump seal, or the rubber o-ring type lip, that's on the washer for water pump impeller.

Can you define baked? To expand it you mean? Both are on order anyway but an experiment would be fun lol

lol. pretty sure he meant when you overheated the engine the heat "baked"/ruined your seals. try em @ 375f for 15 minutesCan you define baked? To expand it you mean? Both are on order anyway but an experiment would be fun lol
