I recently had my skid out to do the bushings and grease, and added a 4th wheel in the rear. I cut my stock spacer and did it myself, now when i tighten my axle it does not seem to tighten enough. should i be able to tightned it where just the nut tightens on the bolt?

The shaft usually sits about half way into the bearing race.Just did a homemade 4th wheel kit myself. Double check that you remove enough material from the center spacer. The extra spacer piece that is cut off should be atleast as wide as the bearing that is in the wheel.

I ended up cutting a washer out of the spacer, and installing the homemade washer before the final nut and everything tightened up like it should. When i did the 4th wheel i cut the spacer the same size as the other side and then took out the bearing width for the other one, i must of took to much out of one or the other. Everything seemed to fit ok when installing all the 4 wheels and spacers untill i went to tighten and it was bottoming out with no more threads on the axle, simple fix just rode 30 miles and everything still looks good.
