ckutch question for mr sled or anyobody

i put in mr sleds clutch set ups aligned the clutches, the only thing i havent done is belt deflection yet,i took it for a zip around the yard,no accelaration,upon investigating the clutches the secondary was not full closed on the belt when shut off,so i took the belt off
and the secondary when you open it up does not snap back closed,do i have something not right with the helix it is set at 80* or is it because of belt deflection? the primary i noticed was black from the belt possibly slipping on the sheaves? any help with this situation.
 
did you wrap the secondary the right way. that is what it sounds like the problem is. Maxdlx
 
it didnt close completely without a belt on it, but i got it fixed, i wrapped the secondary the wrong way, thanks maxdl and water super :rockon:
 
Yeah, thats easy to do if you are messing with it for the first time. I too did it a couple years ago and thought my spring was shot. Looked at the clutch and noticed the helix was not in contact with the buttons...oops!
