I'm trying the same thing with mine right now, haven't run it yet but here is my starting point
47.5 pilots
150 mains
gutted airbox with cold air kit. Most people say the stock jetting for the vmax is a little rich so I went a little leaner to start with, I have a good amount of engine work done and run race fuel but I think this should be a close starting point.

what comes stock with the phazer i think im gonna try the stock jets to start
Stock jetting will probably be too lean, and the pilots are a different style (cant transfer them)
I just tested mine (mod motor) with the jetting listed in my previous post and it is perfect. i would start with 47.5 pilots, one turn out on the air screws. for trail riding on pump gas 147.5-150 mains are probably pretty close. You will need to check your plugs and adjust accordingly. It also seems to run real good with the airbox gutted.

what do you think for the pilots on a bone stock motor???
the 47.5s should work fine. I never needed to change pilots with my stock carbs when I modded the motor. Also, as long as your putting the carbs on there, replace the reeds with carbon techs. Huge difference in throttle response even on a stock sled. The stock reeds are metal and just don't work as well as the carbon fiber ones.
