I dont mean a full HID setup, just something like a Sylvania Xtravision, or silverstar ( even tho there life cycle on cars is terrible, so Im assuming even worse on a constant running sled )
I have HIR bulbs in my car and they are amazing.. Better than my HIDs I had cheaper, and you dont need projectors.. BUT they dont make 9003s ( H4 )

Not sure why you would want a bulb that puts out less than HID, I have them in two cars and my sled, they are amazing. Most kits are 75 bucks now and use alot less power than stock bulbs.
DDM and Apexcone make h4 kits, they suck to mount in a apex because of room but on an older sled, they would be easy. Power ground and plug the rest in and tie everything up.

Because like I said. An hid without a projector is pointless and a hazard more than anything.

Don't you also need a battery to help get the voltage up? No e-start on my sled but I'd love to go with HID. Had them in my old car. Amazing difference and when aimed right they are not a hazard. The projector makes them much more efficient.

Did you check the link. It says 35watts so I dont see why you would need a battery.dnale said:Don't you also need a battery to help get the voltage up? Read through the link. Didn't see 35watts anywhere... I meant that with an HID you would need a battery for the ballast.
I'd buy an hid kit if i had projectors. But like I see in so many cars now. Hids without projectors are just annoying. And to top it off most ppm run 8-12k lights which completely defeats the purpose of an hid
Someone mentioned silverstars. Like I said if they would last longer they would be great. But when they only last 1 yr in a car ( nit even usin the lights inthe day ) I'd hate to be blowing $50 a season on bulbs

I run the silver stars in my cars and my sleds and have yet to change them in 3 years and my cars have day time running lights. My sleds are going on 4 years. I also run led tail lights just because and I like that the snow never melts to the lenses

I wish my silverstar's lasted that long. Put a set in my car about 6 months ago. Yesterday one low beam was out. Replaced it last night with one of my old ones. Dang thing went out again. I must have some sort of short. Crap...

I use PIAA bulbs in all my 2strokes. Twice as bright as a regular bulb with less power consumption. Have yet to change a bunrt out one of these in over 5 years now. A 4k HID system is hands down better than any regular H4 bulb. Projector or not. The only draw back on the HID is that you need a battery.

Nice, just might have to try them out.. If I find a sale .. THe lights IMO already are bright.. Must just be how yamaha makes the lens, because they seem very good , even with $3 crap lights

They IMO have burned out quick for everyone.. It even says it on the Sylvania packaging.. SO if the company says they dont last, Id be looking at another option
