I started the sled cold and it seemed to not run right so I checked and the center cylinder was cold. I thought well iot's got a foulded plug. But this is VERY rare on this machien is it not? So I changed plugs and all was well.
Happened again, however this time I let it run for a minute or two and all of a sudden it started sounding fine and the pipe(center) started getting hot like the other two. I rode it all day.
What is going on? Anyone had this happen? Possible leaking needle and seat center cylinder and not a plug at all the second time????
Thanks for any help.

I let mine idle for a while and have no issues.Check the pilot in the carb for that cylinder..maybe it is plugged
What plugs are you using?
If you haven't cleaned the carbs this season its time to do it.
It may be time for new spark plug caps, high resistance in the caps could cause this.

thanks bob, was wondering about that. ARe aftermarket ngk caps just as good as yamaha?
I checked plugs today and after trailing they all look perfect so obviously the needles are set close.

I have tried the after market NGK caps and they are OK but I have gone back to OEM for their positive fit, they never seem to loosen up or pop off when they get older.
