Hi,
I was wondering what the recommendations from Yamaha are and any SRX owners opinion on Regular gas vs. Premium for a 99 SRX 700 with Powervalves.
Headed out for my first trip and I want to make sure I use the right gas..

There should be a sticker above the choke and ignition on the hood that says premium only.

stay away from methanol fuel and always use premium. (In Canada some premium has methanol in it) Check spark plug color often if your not sure about how it is jetted
So are sleds like turbo/supercharged cars where the higher octane the better? Just curious because we have 93 @ a few gas stations only 3 cents more than the 91
you ride the best sled so spent the 3 cents and let it drink the best fuel

run premium as much as you can. I've run regular on occasion when nothing else was available with no issues. I just tend to take it easier with regular. My sled has 26,000 kms on it. Here, premium right now is $1.35/litre and regular's at $1.23/litre... I wish I could run regular!

I was told by a Yamaha dealer long time ago to run the 93 octane or high grade. Why I asked. Because it's cleaner was his answer. My dad had a full service station for 15 years and his reason was the same. This was before ethanol. I always put in the highest grade available and haven't had any problems knock on wood.
