I'm rebuilding my sled after melting a mag side piston. It wasn"t a jetting related failure.
The compression was down to 110 (w/melted piston), 110, 105 with the exhaust side trimmed down by detonation about .030. Still ran great! Rode it 400 mi. in the UP on the last ride like that.
The wrist pins were colored on 2 rods, but the melted piston rod looked new!? I ordered 3 wrist pins and 3 bearings. The tech at my dealer said the other 2 pistons looked new.
The reason I'm asking about jetting is that there is nowash on the domes, pure black all the way. I run the sled on Klotz, and have the Bender direct injection oiling kit, but wonder if I should go up to 2001 spec jetting.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks, John.

Yes from what have read on here i would run 2001 jetting in your 2000. It is fatter and with the help of this jetting, clean carbs and GOOD gas you should have a very little chance of a burn down!
