Hey gang, was wondering if anyone had these issues with theri Vipers. I have a '03 Viper in excellent condition and all stock. It has 4500mi on it. At times when you start it(when cold) it will produce some back fires. After warmed up, it doesn't do it anymore. The sled runs excellent and no complaint, I just was wondering if this is a problem. I've had it for 3 seasons so far. One other thing, warning light comes on after full on accelation or WOT jaunts. This happens occasionally and doesn't seem to effect performance. The code is 3 short blips. In the manual it refers to thumb warmer resitor. The thumb warme does work. Any ideas?

sound like someone put the wrong year thumb warmer on maybe. i know my 01 srx would trip a light when i mistakenly put a set of 98 model heated grips on it

Back firing - possible fuel screw on the carbs needs to be leaned a little (screwed in a bit)?

I'll have to check the t warmer, i wonder if it has a p/n that's visible. I did go through the entire wiring looking for rub througt that seems to be trouble on the Viper/SRX. Thought i found the smoking gun on the wire that sits right next to the starter rope loop. I cut the metal end off and added protective plastic covering. Actually I wrapped almost all of the wires on th machine and it still does it. Maybe if I disconnect the thumb warme and run it to see?
I'll check the air screws as well, thanks guys!
