I have read on this site that these old sleds have an AC electrical system. Does this mean my anti-fog helmet uses AC? What volts?
So the lights and electronics all work on 12volts AC but the starting/charging systems is 12volts DC?

The charging system puts out AC. The lighting circuit is AC. There is a rectifier to charge the battery with DC.Daring said:So the lights and electronics all work on 12volts AC but the starting/charging systems is 12volts DC?
There is a wiring diagram in the owners manual that will show the system.
That is what I was thinking. What do you think the grip warmers be? I figure AC.PZ 1 said:The charging system puts out AC. The lighting circuit is AC. There is a rectifier to charge the battery with DC.
