So right before xmas after looking at my powervalves and discovered that I had been probably been riding most of last year with 2 pull outs. After having Mr. Powervalve fix all 3 of them for me( he did a great job!) and cleaning out my clutches Im currently running the loaded 8dn-20 setup, and was out yesterday doing some river running with the boys and my sled was back to having that great mid and top end pull that I love. I did a few runs with my buddy who has a 2009 cat 800 and was talking his sled up cause he has just installed a $400 bikeman clutch kit. The river had a nice base with 3 inches of fresh snow on top and after doing some top end runs my sled was pulling to about 86-8700rps and about 95 on speedo but still was pulling and then would hold steady at about 8500, but I was very happy cause after repeated runs the 800 would stay with me till about 80 then I would walk past him every time he was not a happy camper!! So i was wondering what you guys think of my clutching do I have alot to improve on or what are some other things I could try? :2strokes:

sounds good with 3 inches of snow...for an SRX.I was riding about 5 inches of fresh snow and hitting the same 95..the odd 100 mph on speedo.

yea it was a pretty good time, blue Ive been following your clutching posts you said you couldnt get your 8bu-10s dialed in and said you going back to either stock or the 8dn-20 set up an Im just curious as to what rpm's and speeds youve been seeing thanx

well my rpms were about spot on wot..a little over rev..But I just discovered another issue with my clutching.Noticed a lot of marks on my primary sheaves made from the belt..never had this before. So checked my center to center with the Sled Pro tool and finding the motor moved inward almost 1/8" and off set is off to.So maybe this is why I couldn't get belt to grab properly at wot, belt not being squeezed in the clutch, slipping and belt flexing probably going on.So gonna dig into it,off come pipes and carbs and re clean clutch sheaves.I hope this is the answer to all my performance issue's.I also felt a clunk during engagement from 4200 to 4500..belt must be jumping around because to loose belt tension..sloppy and not running true in the clutch would make a make a big difference how the clutches are shifting and putting out power to the track...

found this in the tech section on belt deflection

Too Loose of Deflection:
The holeshot will suffer and possibly bog and the midrange punch will be slow and doggy. It is possible for the midrange mph to be higher if the engine stays close to the proper operating rpm, but the top end rpm will pull down.

sounds like my issues..hmmmmmmmm

yes that does maybe once you get all that checked over you will be able to get your top end back! Also I noticed that u were trying out the 8bu-10 weights and just wondering if u thought like they were good trail weights, and would u give them another try once u get everything aligned? Good luck! :letitsnow
