Hi All

I have had some time to log some time on my 97 500 XT since Christmas and it is working good, but the RPMs at WOT are around 82 or 8300 RPM. Is this normal? I know the recommended RPMs is 7800 for maximum performance. It appears to be totally shifting out with the belt riding to within about an eighth of an inch of the top of the primary clutch. I have checked vmaxjohn's clutch setup and other than the helix and the extra rivets in the weights I have matched his settings and it is still the same revving over 8K. I know the extra rivets will make it pull harder, but why such high RPM with factory setup?

I intend to match vmaxjohns clutch setup and looks like I only need to buy the helix and add the rivets to the weights since I already have the proper weights.

Also it seems to be really injector oil thirsty. What is the recommended method to get it down to 50:1? Just wondering where the adjustment for this is.
Thanks

you gotta be 7800 rpm. Add heavier rivets to the weights.

Heavier Weights?

So this is a common problem then Turk? Is this what they all run out of the box....at 8200 rpm?

vmaxjohn is saying 2.4s in the 1st and 2nd hole, with his setup. Is this ok without the recommended helix? Has anyone tried his setup without the helix change? Maybe I am the first....now to get the rivets :-).

Thanks Turk
