I have a problem. on my 2002 Viper, the caution light (red ) flashes at wide open throttle, followed by the engine light, just after 90-95 mph, @ 8500 rpm. It doesn't appear to want to accelerate any faster 2/3 to WOT. I've cleaned the power valves, carb's, and have a newer Yamaha belt. The sled was up graded with the Blue Max kit installed by a Yamaha Dealer in '03. The carbs were redone last season again, and I never had a problem last season. The engine has over 10k miles on it, but right in the middle to upper compression specs. TORS switch is bypassed.
Any ideas???

Is that the DCS light? Perhaps you have bad gas.

This happened to me on my 02 viper and my cables were tangled up on the pulley for the exhaust valve servo. I think when I replaced my exhaust valve pull through i had to put slack in the cables to get the valve out and when I turned the servo back I did not pay attention to the cables and they were not in their proper spots on the pulley. I put them back properly and no issues.

I believe the 02 does not have DCS. When the warning light comes on what icon is displayed in the dash?

02 Viper does not have DCS but the 02 SRX does have DCS.
Thanks for all the help guys ! I talked with a friend of mine that works on a lot of yamaha's and VIPDHEMI he told me the same thing. so its off to the dealer to put the servo cable back in spec.

Oh man you can fix that yourself lol. Your machine is gonna feel much different with them powervalves working perfect again.
The guy i talked to claims that the servo needs to put on a mach to be calibrated LOL I will find out what he means. He claims it should be set every 5k due to the cables stretching. I don't think any of them are crossed up, just stretched out. He kind of explained it like this . at wide open throttle the servo is not opening up and the 3d timing is reading to much back pressure there for the lights come on. I will talk more before I bring it to the dealer !
Thanks guys
