Can pick up a 98 rear skid without shocks for 125. I know the rails are slightly different. But Wonderig what performance or ride difference if any between them. Is one better than the other? Was thinking about picking up for a backup if they are the same.

if its from a 98 SRX, the transfer rod holes are different, other than that I have not had em side by side to compare...
For 250.00 you can get a real skid....... Sell yours for 125.00 and you have it......

I don't want anything other than the no action though... Everything else robs top end speed or affects handling... ![Smile :) :)](https://totallyamaha.net/images/smilies/smile.png)

Not at all. Transfer, ride, traction are all improved. On mine anyways.
A few guys have even increased top end once the new skids are set
up.

skid is same, the rear transfer rods are bolted back further, which I like better but the fra in your newer skid is easier to adjust.
Other than that, there are only cosmetic differences, they both suck and will brake if you don't fix their issues

Hey spinner, I've got the skid out of my 97sx, same as the 98srx, but wheels are red. Shocks were sold and skid has about 1500 miles on it. I think it's mostly complete and nothing bent, rusted or broke, sleds never sat outside. $50 If you want it. Also have a nice set of ski's off the srx, put razors on and will never use the old ones, $50 for those also.
