So I have A 2000 Mountain Max 700 and I cannot find a set of throttle cable extensions that will fit on my exsisting cable. It seems like you need to have the right metal end on the cable in order to put the curclip on to attach the stock cable to the extension box. Well my cable just has a round metal cap on the end, and so do the brand need stock cable that you can buy. What do I do??

cable extensions seem to cause more headache than they are worth.

how much rise are you looking for?

your stock cable has a direct 90* tubing bend right off the carbs. this bend limits your choices for a riser.

the oem throttle and oil cable from an 03 mtn viper, must be 03 and must be mtn is your best bet depending on rise. the throttle cable doesnt have the metal tubing bend and is a few inches longer as is the oil pump cable.

pt # 8EN-26311-00-00 throttle
pt # 8EN-26320-00-00 oil pump

rich motorsports, a site sponsor, used to be a good source for purchasing these.
dont forget the brake line and the parking brake cable may need to be longer as well.

Rsi

I went with all RSI (cables, risers, bars, brake line)and am running 10" risers, I am happy with their use but there is a lot to keep in check when removing the stock cables and adding extended ones. I also had to extend all the wiring. Set aside a half day at least for this project

Yeah Im going to a 4 inch block, I have a 2 right now with stock cables. BUt as far as wiring goes thats no problem if I have to extend.

Be careful what oil cable you buy. Some aftermarket cables don't allow enough adjustment and you end up burning too much oil. I have a cable now that is giving me that issue. I recommend buying an '03 Mtn Viper oil cable to have the necessary adjustment to turn the pump down.
